This weekend we had “Holiday Photos” The human parents are sending cards with our picture on it, so we had to all be good and look “cute” and “well behaved”.  We also had to wear sweaters and hats! Even Scratch!

They tried to take all different pictures with props and scenes and everything… We had “presents.”

It got dangerous when they took Surly out of his cage. They decided to decorate his cage instead.

How exhausting all of this posing and looking cute was! We all just had to take a nap.

Pumpkin Time!

Pumpkin Time!

So much fun stuff happened this week! On Thursday we helped our human parents put fun, creepy, scary decorations in the yard.

We watched a scary scary movie Friday night.  Bosco was really scared and could not sleep after that even though I told him it was all fake!

On Saturday we went to a pumpkin patch and had our picture taken!  Everyone said that Bosco and I are, “so cute!”

Bosco and I got our very own pumpkins that we got to help carve and even eat!!!

I can’t wait until next week, we are going to see all of our friends at the dog park and be in a costume parade!

Experimental Music by Scratch

Experimental Music by Scratch

We have all been encouraging Scratch with his music making.  Bosco and I have even been making  noise with Scratch and helping him with his musical vision as well… It is best described as “Avant-gard”, I guess.

We recorded a little bit of his “music”.   It is totally weird and different to me, but we are really doing it to help Scratch.   Having a creative outlet seems to be really good for him.  He has stopped being so disruptive in the house. Here is a taste of what Scratch likes.  Enjoy!  You could probably use it for your haunted house!

Bait and Switch

Bait and Switch

So, finally we have some answers about Scratch’s complicated problems.  Scratch is having “trust issues, which have resulted in paranoia and aggressiveness”.

Apparently when Scratch freaked out and ran away during the fireworks this summer, he got lost and ended up meeting some other cats.  Stray cats.

These cats pretended to be friends with Scratch and then made fun of him and beat him up.  They could tell that he was a naïve and sheltered house cat.  This has left Scratch questioning everything!

Now he is rebelling because he wants to be seen as “tough”, like the stray cats.

Also, he is trying to confront his new fears of the outdoors and loud noises by actively making loud noise himself!

He is paranoid about the thunder and lightning because it reminds him of the fireworks.  He gets aggressive about these things because “he wants revenge” on these elements that he is sure were co-conspirators with the cats that roughed him up.

The Psychic said we can help Scratch if we are understanding with him… “He needs to rebuild his trust.” Also we should encourage his piano playing and music making. Hopefully this will help “build his confidence and be a positive outlet for him…” “He is very sensitive.” I’ve said it before and I will say it again, what a complicated cat!  At least now we know why he has been acting so strangely lately.

Pet Psychic

Scratch unfortunately definitely regressed a bit in the absence of our humans.  Their absence messed up his whole routine. The thunderstorms last week only made things worse.  He suspects that the whole universe is out to get him, even the weather!

He has taken up meowing incessantly and breaking glass when he can.  For instance if there is a drinking glass on the counter or something like that, he likes to bat it to the ground.   It seems like he wants to do things that will make noise.  He tries to run around on the piano keys too if the cover is open, which isn’t that bad…But breaking glass?

Even though our human parents have been saying that calling the “pet psychic” is “ridiculous”, they decided to call.

I wonder what the pet psychic said about Scratch?????????????????????????????????

Summer Lovin’

Our human parents went out of town this weekend for a wedding.  Guess who came over to stay with us???  Francine and her human mom!  Bosco was so excited when the doorbell rang and the door opened and Francine was there!
She took us all on walks together and gave us lot’s of treats.
Scratch pretty much hid in our human mom and dads room the whole time they were gone.  He only came out to eat and go outside.  I hope he is not regressing.
Francine has a lot of allergies and goes to a special doctor called an “Acupuncturist” to help her feel better. Bosco and I went with her and her mom for her treatment.  They stick all of these little tiny needles in her and she just relaxed and it made her feel better and not as itchy.  Needles do not seem like they would be fun, I hate them at the Vet, but Francine says this is different.
Now I know Bosco really has a crush on Francine, because she kind of bosses him around and he likes it.

The Neurosis of Scratch

The Neurosis of Scratch

It has been a month now since the terrible fireworks and disappearance/return of Scratch.   He is still acting strange.  In fact, he is being bad.  I can tell he is still angry. He seems to be sort of ok with Bosco and me, but he is hissing at Surly Bird all the time.

He is also peeing everywhere!!!  At first Bosco and I almost got in trouble because our human parents thought it might be us… Then they realized that it was Scratch and said that he was “marking his territory.”He has peed in our human dads shoe, on our human moms bed pillow, and in their closet!

Scratch also destroyed the side of our human dads favorite recliner even though he has is very own scratching post!
All of Scratches artwork lately has been really dark too.  He is definitely going through something.
Bosco and I are concerned.  Scratch has always been a little odd, but we like him that way.  As strange as it seems, we actually miss the old Scratch! Our human parents are concerned too. They are taking Scratch to a psychologist today.  I hope it helps!

Bosco in Outerspace

If Bosco and I didn’t come from the same litter, I would swear that he was my “little brother.”   Well, I WAS technically born first, so maybe that explains it.  He can be so immature!  I am trying to be nice and get along with Surly and Scratch and it seems like Bosco is deliberately annoying them!

I love Bosco and I am so glad that we got to go to the same home; but sometimes I have to keep him in line.  He is very lucky he has me to tell him what to do.
