This weekend we had “Holiday Photos” The human parents are sending cards with our picture on it, so we had to all be good and look “cute” and “well behaved”. We also had to wear sweaters and hats! Even Scratch!
They tried to take all different pictures with props and scenes and everything… We had “presents.”
It got dangerous when they took Surly out of his cage. They decided to decorate his cage instead.
How exhausting all of this posing and looking cute was! We all just had to take a nap.
Bosco and I have just been so busy this week! I am sorry to say that after we prioritized a bit, unfortunately my blog had to be postponed. There has been all kinds of things to sniff and stuff to eat and sweaters we had to wear and pictures that had to be taken and well, you will just have to wait until Thursday to see…
Last night we had on crrreeppy noisy music, kind of like Scratch makes, and all of these children in costumes kept ringing the door-bell, the humans said they were “trick or treaters”. Then our human parents would open the door and give them some stuff from a big bowl and they would put it in these bags that they were carrying.
Scratch did not like all of the strangers and got really stressed out and stayed the rest of the night in the laundry room working on his paintings.
The bags that the kids were carrying smelled so good and we had to run out the door to sniff them and see what they might have for us. The kids pet us and said we were “so cute!”
Our human parents said that we could not have any of the candy!!! If we did, we would have to “go to the vet!” The they gave us lots of dog treats and toys to play with to “keep us occupied” and said if we didn’t settle down we would have to go on our leashes.
This weekend was the costume parade at the dog park! Holy cow it was fun! Everyone was all dressed up, even some of the humans had costumes on. Some of us really liked wearing our costumes and others did not. There were a lot of dogs in the parade, but I am just going to tell you about our friends…and one enemy haha!
I went as a bumble bee which is funny because my name is, Bea. I think Bosco might have actually been a little scared of me because of the time that he got stung on the paw by a bumble bee when we were on the beach.
Bosco loves football! He loves to bark any time there is a touch down or the human parents cheer and high five! He is the life of any football party and Aaron Rodgers is his favorite football player, so that is what Bosco dressed as.
Bosco’s “Girlfriend”, Francine was a Geisha! She looked very stylish with an authentic Japanese Robe and even a wig! She definitely had one of the best costumes.
Toffee and pepper were so cute and matching, of course! Pepper was a policeman and Toffee was a prisoner.
Delia’s two dads hand made the neatest witch costume just for her! She had a black dress and a patchwork apron, a little witch hat that stayed on her head with barrettes in her hair. She also carried around a little plastic cauldron for her treats.
Salvador was none other than the great surrealist painter of his namesake, Salvador Dali! Thom Yorkie who is Salvadors best friend and has parents who are “hipsters” was a mad scientist! They both looked really cool!
The funniest costume was funny because of WHO was wearing it. I heard my human mom said that it was “ironic”, that the big, mean, stupid dog that barked at Bosco the first time we came to the park was dressed as an angel!!! Hahahahahahaha! That’s a good one! I think devil may have been more appropriate.
We have all been encouraging Scratch with his music making. Bosco and I have even been making noise with Scratch and helping him with his musical vision as well… It is best described as “Avant-gard”, I guess.
We recorded a little bit of his “music”. It is totally weird and different to me, but we are really doing it to help Scratch. Having a creative outlet seems to be really good for him. He has stopped being so disruptive in the house. Here is a taste of what Scratch likes. Enjoy! You could probably use it for your haunted house!
So, finally we have some answers about Scratch’s complicated problems. Scratch is having “trust issues, which have resulted in paranoia and aggressiveness”.
Apparently when Scratch freaked out and ran away during the fireworks this summer, he got lost and ended up meeting some other cats. Stray cats.
These cats pretended to be friends with Scratch and then made fun of him and beat him up. They could tell that he was a naïve and sheltered house cat. This has left Scratch questioning everything!
Now he is rebelling because he wants to be seen as “tough”, like the stray cats.
Also, he is trying to confront his new fears of the outdoors and loud noises by actively making loud noise himself!
He is paranoid about the thunder and lightning because it reminds him of the fireworks. He gets aggressive about these things because “he wants revenge” on these elements that he is sure were co-conspirators with the cats that roughed him up.
The Psychic said we can help Scratch if we are understanding with him… “He needs to rebuild his trust.” Also we should encourage his piano playing and music making. Hopefully this will help “build his confidence and be a positive outlet for him…” “He is very sensitive.” I’ve said it before and I will say it again, what a complicated cat! At least now we know why he has been acting so strangely lately.
